UPDATES.TXT Darim Vision Co., Ltd. 1999/04/05 Updates and fixes for MPEGator software versions 2.66 and 2.67 for Windows 95/98/NT Since release of MPEGator software versions 2.66 (for MPEGator rev. 3.0 or earlier hardware) and 2.67 (for MPEGator rev 3.1 hardware only) several problems has been discovered by Darim Technical Support team. This file describes a number of issues that have been addressed in the latest software updates MTRUP266.EXE and MTR098.EXE MTRUP266.EXE ------------ The MTRUP266.EXE is intended for users of *all* revisions of MPEGator hardware (1.1, 2.x and 3.x) who is running software 2.66 or later in any Windows platform (95/98/NT). The update addresses and corrects the following problems: * MPEG Editor locks up or crashes while processing large MPEG files * MPEG Multiplexer program sometimes failed to produce VideoCD-compatible files. * AVI2MPEG program provided with software version 2.67 did not work properly (stopped at frame 0). * Incorrect aspect ratio information was recorded when capturing NTSC video at 352x240 resolution. New 'MPEG Fixer' utility allows you to quickly change aspect ratio field in any MPEG file without re-compression. * Compatibility problems between DVMPEG codec drivers and the newer versions of Adobe Premiere and Ulead Media Studio The installation/update is performed automatically without user intervention. The updated files are copied to \Program Files\MPEGator\Tools and \Windows\System or \WinNT\System32 folders. MTR098.EXE ---------- The MTR098.EXE patch is intended for those who experienced spurious 'New Hardware Found' messages when starting Windows 98. This problem occurs with all MPEGator 3.x and some 2.x cards installed in a PC running Windows 98. Older 2.x and 1.1 cards do not seem to cause this problem. Finally, the problem never occurs on machines running Windows 95 or Windows NT. If you often receive spurious 'New Hardware Found' messages, simply run MTR098.EXE, then power down and restart the PC. The MTR098.EXE package modifies your AUTOEXEC.BAT in order to run a special utility MTR0.EXE every time you boot Windows 98. You may see *one* more 'New Hardware Found' message after you load Windows 98 for the very first time following the patch installation. Do not be alarmed, the message will not appear again as long as MTR0.EXE is invoked in AUTOEXEC.BAT every time when Windows 98 boots. We hope that these updates will increase your satisfaction from Darim's MPEGator. Thank you for your business. Darim Vision Technical Support team techsup@darim.kaist.ac.kr
